I've been experimenting with coloring again, and I chose some fandoms at random to see what I'd get with this. Two of these fandoms are new for me, though not new shows. I seem to be continuing my tradition of discovering wonderful, underrated, and/or obscure television programs long after cancellation.

I received Highlander: The Series as a birthday gift and The Raven happened to be included in the boxset. Amanda was always my favorite of the immortals--no, sorry, I am not a Methos groupie--so, I decided to check the show out. I have to confess that after hearing this show bashed for so long I did not have high hopes for it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I'm sorry that show's production problems overshadowed so much of it because it really had the potential to develop into something remarkable. There are only a few icons here but I will be posting a bigger set in the next few days.

I also happened to discover Witchblade earlier this year, and I have to say that Sarah has become one of my all time favorite television characters. (Not an easy list to make it onto).

I would heartily recommend both of these shows to anyone who enjoys shows with intelligent female leads rather than cliched ones.

Mostly ones I did for [livejournal.com profile] janetlin a while ago and some I did for [livejournal.com profile] nightskyetears today. I have some larger graphics I was going to post as well, but [livejournal.com profile] aruna7 requires cheering up so I'm going to make more first.

Okay, random iconage. Some of these Eric Stoltz icons work as Ani, some the backgrounds kill the effect, but he's cute anyway. I'm lazy and didn't feel like messing with the selection tool to crop out the backgrounds.

01-10 Text (Bloodkin and/or Definition)
11-46 Kevin Smith (Ares/Dav)
47-84 Eric Stoltz (aka Ani Kenobi)

[livejournal.com profile] stargatefangurl's recent Xena icon posts on [livejournal.com profile] dreamerland have reminded me how much I used to love Hercules and Xena...erm. Okay. Total honesty here. How much I loved Ares: God of War. Unlike SG-1, no matter how much I enjoyed the humor or the friendships between the heroes, this was a fandom I loved for a villain. I'm sure that I'll make Xena and Herc icons again, and when I do, I'll have something for fans of other characters.

As an Ares fangirl, though, I really wanted a collection of good icons devoted to him that I could either use as is or have on hand as bases if I wanted them. The PROBLEM with being an Ares fangirl is that Ares himself doesn't like being neglected. So, as penance for the fact that I've posted only ONE other set of Ares icons, the God of War demanded nothing less than a COMPLETE set. He wanted me to do the Young Herc eps too, but I managed to convince him that I should hold something in reserve for next time.

The day I started making this, my brain also produced a new story called "The Winds of Rhyiandanor. I suppose it was inevitable that Kevin Smith ends up doubling as Davron. Heh. So, whether you see the God of War or The Dragonborn Prince, I hope you'll enjoy.

I give you The Complete Ares, featuring icons from every episode of Herc or Xena in which he appeared.

*Although Xena is the only character I ever shipped with Ares, there are a few other pairings represented here because the caps just begged to be used. So, I hope you'll find something you like if you're looking for shippy icons.

*Sorry, I didn't separate by episode. These were done over a week at night when I was too braindead to write anymore. I just made them until I was ready for sleep and then saved and picked up the next day.

*I broke them up into posts of about 160 icons apiece in an attempt to make it a little more dialup friendly.

*Also backdated my posts this time to avoid being murdered by those who would rather not have to scroll through ten posts.

*I want to make one comm post for these rather than several over the course of the next few weeks, so I've made a link table again with teasers for each post. If you snag from more than one post and just want to comment at the table post, that's fine.

*As always, these can be used as bases.

Icon post #3 for the evening...SG-1, SGA, and random odds and ends...

37 Stargate SG-1 icons from the s10 promo pics, by request of [livejournal.com profile] aruna7

By Request )

Totally random, but 35 icons of Leelee Sobieski and Marina Sirtis

Random Pretties )

Not quite random, but I've never actually done Xena icons. Rather surprising, since Ares was my pre-Daniel obsession #1.

24 icons total.

It's a god thing )

These aren't quite random either...lol. I just forgot to put them in with the Superman set I posted earlier.

23 Smallville icons, almost all Clark.

Pocket full of... )

Look at that! I did more SGA icons than SG-1! Never happens. Ever.

57 Various s2 icons.

What's a Goo-a-oold? )

Ok, I think that's everything...heading to bed now. Will post to comms tomorrow. Night all.
