aruna7. For my birhtday, she made me a D/V vid on The Red Strokes OMG!SQUEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Not to mention it's GARTH!!

Well, my birthday passed without my being dragged away on a road trip for the second year in a row. That's like...strange. It rained all day, which might explain it. That never used to stop us. Hmmm. Getting old? lol.

I must say that I do miss spending half the morning sitting around trying to think up somewhere within a one-day travel distance that we haven't been already. That seems to have become as much a part of the road trip experience as the actual trips. With the kids whining and going, "C'mon, can we GO yet???"

Anyway. So, I seem to have set a new personal record for icons made in one day. There are a lot of variations, especially in one section where I lost the original icons when my comp lost power. I had to re-do them, and I couldn't figure out how I'd done the enhancements the first time.

I was considering adding text to these that corresponded with the vid. I may go back and make a second set at some point but in the end I decided that I really just wanted the images to stand alone.

Aruna did a fantastic job with the red coloring she'd planned on the choruses, which I tried to enhance without changing for the icons, so I didn't do anything in the way of textures, curves, or color layers. I'll let her be the judge of how well I did. Most of the variations I have are either in cropping or in the aforementioned group that I did over. Try as I might, I couldn't get them right the second time, so I just kept a bunch of the variations hoping she'd like them. Oh, and of course everyone else too. lol.

I apparently need to post these in two posts, because LJ keeps telling me my post is too long. This is what I get for rambling.
