Hi guys, I know it's been forever, but I'm back with my own website now and with any luck I'll be able to post resources consistently.  (No promises on fanfic or anything else.)

Renewal prev 2
Download here on my site

These are free samples from my Premium Digital Resource theme pack for May. There are three soft-grunge textures. Each is 12"x12" (3600x3600 px) @ 300dpi.
View and download individual textures on Flickr. (There are extras in the gallery that won't be zipped; feel free to grab those as well.

  • Any creative use is allowed. Use them in your projects, designs, and composites. Please don't redistribute them as is. You can read my full terms here.

  • These look great both as backgrounds and overlays. Sample pack two uses one of these as an overlay. I'll have some more usage samples up over the weekend.

  • If you like them and want more colors and variations, check out the full premium pack.

Hello everyone. As I mentioned in a recent post I hurt my arm really badly. It's worse than I initially thought. I don't know when I'll be able to go back to work, since my job is to type for my boss. I had a lot of unexpected big expenses in 2012, including emergency medical bills, medical equipment, and doctor visits that I needed to pay for out of pocket. Those bills are taken care of and I have enough to get by on, but things are going to be very tight.

I need a new computer. I'm not sure I can afford that, and I know I can't afford to do that and continue pay for the hosting costs related to this blog. (It's a blogspot page, so yes, it's free, but all of the content is hosted privately--and there is a lot of high res content, so I can't just switch to free plans.  Once my paid accounts on PB, Flickr and Mediafire go, so will all the freebies. That includes not only the resources but ALL of the livejournal/dreamwidth icons, all of the free graphics, and anything else that I have posted there over the years.)

I really love doing the blog, and it's important to me to keep as much of my content as possible free for everyone to use.

So, this is what I am going to do. I am looking to raise about $500 toward a new computer and/or $100 toward hosting costs.

In the next few days, I will be adding several more gift packs.

Anybody who donates any amount of money--even a dime--can choose to download ALL the gift packs I offer.  Just post a comment or leave your email address in the comment box on paypal and I will send you whatever ones you ask for.

Anybody who donates $5.00 or more can request a custom pack.

If you are on Livejournal or Dreamwidth, you can also request custom icons.
Anyone can request a custom site header or a wallpaper or other large graphic.

$1 gets you 10 icons or 1 large graphic.
$5 will get you 50 icons or 5 large graphics.
The more you donate, the more I will do for you, up to 250 icons.

I would prefer not to do slash pairings--NO, I am not a homophobe, I just think the vast majority of slash pairings in my fandoms are weird/gross and I can't type enough to provide a list of what I will and won't do--but at this point, if someone wants to donate for that, I'll consider it.

You can click here to visit my blog and use the donate button in the sidebar. You do not need a paypal account.

Thank you in advance; I really appreciate any help you can give.

This is an overview of the Creative Commons: What is, what it isn't, what the CC licenses cover, how to choose a CC license, and things you can do if you want to share your work but the CC licenses aren't right for you.

I thought it might be useful for resource providers.

The last part of the post, about "courtesy" is just my opinion. You can feel free to ignore it if you're only interested in learning about licensing.

This set goes along with my last tutorial.  These are all the gradients I made from the images used there.

Hi everyone. I hope you're enjoying your holidays.

I want to let you know about a few changes.

I've used Photobucket to host my icons since I started posting back in 05. It seems that they're changing their hosting plan prices. My Pro account is good until February. After that, I don't know if they'll continue to renew Pro accounts for current holders or if we'll be switched to one of their new premium tiers.

If we are switched, I'm not going to be able to keep up my membership there. It's too much for a hobby activity. I will not be deleting my account, but I have WAY more than what is allowed in their free accounts, and I'm sure I'll start to exceed bandwidth limits.

I won't try to move all the icon sets to another host, so I suggest that you take advantage of my paid hosting time and download what you need while you have the chance.

I'm looking at other image hosts. So far the winner is imgbox.com, at least for icons. I'll probably be uploading my textures and larger graphics on Flickr for the time being, until I can get enough money for private hosting.

Program: Paint Shop Pro X5, should work in earlier versions.

Difficulty: Intermediate. Assumes basic knowledge of program features and menu locations. (ie: I'm not going to explain where the materials palette is or how to switch to the gradients tab.) I will answer questions if you comment.

Translateable: Theory should work in other programs. I don't know if they'll have the exact features and materials used.

Find it here on my blog.

I was finally inspired to make some icons! WHOO-HOO!

So I made this small batch to test a new coloring. I also wanted to test out the scripting features in the new version of Paint Shop Pro that I'm working in, my new monitor, and a new image host.

So, there's a lot of testing going on.

Anyway, my new monitor seems slightly brighter than my old one and the colors aren't exactly the same on certain sites. So if you guys could give me some feedback on these in terms of whether they are too dark or the coloring seems really unworkable I'd appreciate it.

(I know the GWTW and Angelique ones aren't great; the problem there is the caps and I won't have better ones until I can get my DVDs out of storage (hopefully next year?)

Movies:
Man on Fire
Transporter
LA Confidential
Groundhog Day
Kit Kitteridge
Angelique and the Sultan
Gone With The Wind

Television:
Stargate: SG-1 9x01: Avalon

Total Icon Count: 43

Teasers:

Program: Paint Shop Pro 8

Difficulty: Intermediate.  Assumes a working knowledge of Paint Shop Pro menus and interface.  The tutorial isn't difficult, but there are a lot of steps, and I don't post as many screenshots or explain in as much detail as I would for a beginner tutorial.  Comments are welcome if you have questions.

Translateable: Should work in any imaging program that supports layers and has a few basic blend modes.
